Ward boy allegedly tries to rape patient in Gwalior

Police arrested hospital staff for allegedly attempting to rape a female Covid 19 patient in Gwalior on Sunday.

New Delhi, April 19: A ward boy was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 59-year-old Covid-19 positive woman at a private hospital in Gwalior. The incident happened when the woman was battling for her life late on Sunday evening in Kampoo Thana area.

Additional Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal told Life News that the woman raised an alarm and he fled after her family members sounded an alarm. According to the victim's complaint, the accused came to her ward when there was no one else there. The complainant’s son filed a first information report and a case has been registered at Kampoo police station.

The ward boy was arrested and booked under sections 376 and 354 of the IPC. The accused was identified as Vivek Lodhi who tried to sexually assault the complainant twice according to the victim’s statement.

The woman’s family also accused the private hospital of negligence. Additional Superintendent of Police Vasal also confirmed to Life News that the private hospital was also being investigated.
