New Delhi, Apr 12: In yet another shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh's Badaun, a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered on Sunday late at night.  The brutal incident happened in the Civil Lines Police Station area when the girl went to the fields with her family to collect wheat. The alleged rapist was hiding in bushes and when he saw the girl alone, he pounced on her and raped her. He strangled her when she tried to shout to raise an alarm.

 

The Senior Superintendent of Police of Budaun, Sankalp Sharma told Life News that the accused was arrested and the body of the girl was sent for postmortem to confirm the rape before the murder. A case has been registered against the accused under POCSO Act and Sections 302 and other relevant sections of the IPC.

 

Police also confirmed that the accused was in his mid-twenties and a resident of Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar district. His family had brought him to a religious place here for some kind of treatment. SSP Sankalp Sharma also confirmed that on finding their daughter missing, the parents looked for her in the adjoining fields. They saw the youth holding the girl’s body. Parents and other villagers thrashed the youth and handed him over to the police.
