The case was marked with vociferous and continuous protests by common citizens of the city, women’s rights organisations, activists, intelligentsia and all right-thinking people along with leaders of all political parties with the exception of the one in charge of Union government, in a bid to seek justice for the deceased child and an assurance of stronger law enforcement in the city
