The court passed this judgement on Thurday for effective implementation of the law for sexual offences against children so that the rights of the minor victim are protected.
Despite being districts with high non-resident Indian population these districts still have skewed sex ratio. Bhavnagar has the highest sex ratio at 1,192 women for every 1000 males. Overall the sex ratio in Gujarat is 955 females for 1000 males.
Union Minister of Women cnd Child Development Smriti Irani said the purpose of the bill is to provide protection to children living in childcare set ups and also those who were rescued from various places.
